A Word For the Weary

Dear one, I so love you. I see such weariness upon you. My heart goes out to you. Did you know that I enjoy you? I am so thrilled with who you are and the reflection of my goodness that you are in the earth. I see past what you call failings and into the core of your being. I have made everything new in you. I came in the form of a babe and rescued you. Each day I throw out the life line for you. You are my joy and delight. Never mind what you’ve done and how you believe you have failed. That’s all water under the bridge. Today is new, packed with new mercies and kindness in your supply bag. Don’t you see? I have thrown you a provision party! I care for the birds, why wouldn’t I care for you? I want to infuse you with courage and strength, stability and joy. I have appetizers of peace and drinks of living water. I have a banquet table all prepared for just you. Come, be seated and nourished in your soul.

Let me help you catch your breath. I have quiet streams all set aside just for you. And the best part? I paid for it all! No expense to you! Let me show you how to find a fresh ease in your step. When you rest at night … really rest. Surrender your body and mind to heaven when you put your head upon your pillow. The sweetness and joy of the Babe wants to fill you! I’m here and have never been closer than I am right now. When you wake up tomorrow I will be at your side again, ready to escort you through my doors of opportunity and influence. The influence of this world is aging you. Tell you what, I want to saturate you and fill you in such a way that the influence and by-product of our union, brings and ageless glow upon your countenance. Oh dear one, you will do valiantly as we shoulder the burden of your world together.

The divine rescue mission is complete. The Babe has entered the world. My love has down like a torrential rain. Put up your umbrella and become as a child … running and jumping in the water puddles of my love!

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:29-30 The Message
