All I Want for Christmas

I don’t want diamonds. I don’t want a fancy vacation. I don’t want a new car or a fancy house. What I want can’t be wrapped and put under a Christmas tree. What I want is for my loved ones to know Jesus – to be zealous in His name.

Saul was diametrically opposed to the church and the teachings of Jesus. He dragged Christians from their homes and had them killed. But God in His infinite love and grace redeemed Paul, gave him a name change, restored him to his true purpose, and used him to preach the gospel.

This morning, I am holding onto that amazing act of grace while I pray for those whom I love, knowing God loves them more. Will you pray and believe with me?

Do you have a son or daughter, nephew or niece, sister or brother, mom or dad that seem a thousand miles from God? Is there someone you love who is hostile toward the Gospel? Believe with me that God can redeem and restore their hearts in an instant. He can speak a word and forever change their lives.

That is my Christmas prayer this year. That the prodigals come home, the lost find their way, the Sauls become Pauls in 2017. Believe with me. After all, the Christmas story begins with a promise: “Nothing is impossible with God.”

“They only heard the report: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” And they praised God because of me.”
