God has spoken to you. He has given you vision! You are so excited. You step out in faith expecting to find blue skies and green lights. And BAM! Opposition. Opposition from the enemy. Opposition from friends. Stumbling blocks. At this moment, you have two choices: retreat or fight.

Retreat is easy maybe even logical to some. But what I have found is if you retreat once, you will spend a lifetime retreating. So maybe God is calling you to fight for the dream. Once again, we do not fight against flesh and blood but against principalities and wickedness in high places. We have several weapons in our Arsenal.

1. We pray. We ask God for wisdom, favor, open doors, timing.
2. We declare. We speak the vision.
3. We have joy. We rejoice in difficult times. We worship.
4. We have patience. Our patience frustrates the enemy.
5. We persevere. We enjoy the journey.

My theme for the new year is “Dream in 2016”. I believe we will begin to see the fulfillment of dreams in 2016. We are going to have to learn to fight for our dreams.

They all plotted together to come and fight against Jerusalem and stir up trouble against it. But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat. After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.” (Nehemiah 4:8-9, 14 NIV)
