Even If

What if you prayed and the answer didn’t come swiftly.
What if the the sickness lingered, the child remained wayward, the marriage crumbled, the bill collectors came knocking. What if the dream seemed farther away than ever. Would you, could you still praise Him? Can you rejoice through difficulty?

Life is sometimes hard. We pray. We believe. We declare. We hope. Yet things do not always go as plan. It is in those times our worship becomes so important. When we can stand in the midst of great adversity and declare “God is good, He is good in spite of my circumstance, He is good regardless of what my bank account is screaming, He is good despite the pain in my body. He is good eternally, preputually, infinitely,” we experience true victory.

My friends, no matter what you are experiencing today, declare with me – God is good. Let it not become some trite Christian speak. But let it be the theology that is that the foundation of your prayers and the lens through which you view your situation. Rejoice in Him today. Sing, dance, and shout today. It doesn’t matter what you see or what you feel, God is eternally, perpetually, infinitely good!

“For even if the fig tree doesn’t blossom, and no fruit is on the vines, even if the olive tree fails to produce, and the fields yield no food at all, even if the sheep vanish from the sheep pen, and there are no cows in the stalls; still, I will rejoice in ADONAI, I will take joy in the God of my salvation. ELOHIM Adonai is my strength! He makes me swift and sure-footed as a deer and enables me to stride over my high places.”
