Fallen Stars

It seems as of late, you can’t watch the news without hearing about some famous person’s indiscretion. Both the entertainment and the political world has been shaken. How should we as Christians respond?

I think we have an amazing opportunity as Christians – not to throw stones, not to jump on the condemning bandwagon, and surely not to sit back with a holier than thou smirk and say I told you so. But we have an opportunity to pray.

Let us pray that in their brokenness, the Holy Spirit will lead them to a place of true repentance. Let us pray for people to share the gospel and God’s love with them. We forget that every person’s whose transgression has been exposed was made in God’s image, was created for purpose.

I believe this statement with my whole heart: “No one is beyond God’s redemption. No one, no matter how dastardly, how heinous, how evil, is beyond God’s ability to save them.”

So instead of wishing upon a fallen star, let us pray for fallen stars. Let us pray they will receive the forgiveness and the love of the Father. Let them have revelation that while their behavior is unacceptable they are accepted in the Beloved. Let us pray for true revival and true repentance in Hollywood and in Politics.

“He went into all the region around the Jordan River, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.”
