He Has Risen, Now What?

Last week, deemed Holy Week, we prepared for Good Friday where we commemorated the brutal death of our Savior. We remembered His ultimate sacrifice that brought us forgiveness, redemption, and justification. We marveled at such love that would endure the cross to ensure us a permanent place in heaven. On Sunday we celebrated the ultimate victory over death! We donned fancy clothes and declared He has risen and risen indeed. We proclaimed to anyone who would listen, “He is Alive!”

But now that the celebration has ended, the fancy clothes hung in the closet, what do I do today? How do I truly face today, knowing that He has risen?

1. Know that you have been made alive WITH Christ. The word means conjoined. Look at it this way: we get to share His heart and His mind. We get to love others like He loves and think His thoughts.

2. We have been raised with Him. We have been snatched out of darkness. We are no longer slaves to sin because we are now the righteousness of God. We get to live holy free from anger, jealousy, fear, addictions, loneliness. We have been raised.

3. We are seated with Christ in Heavenly places. We are seated on the right which denotes a place of authority and power. We are now in charge of executing His will, which is the New Testament. We get to push back the darkness. We get to heal the sick, set the oppressed free, prophesy, speak with new tongues, love unconditionally, and be God’s hands and feet.

Christ has risen and today we get to go and execute His will.

And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
