His Fullness

I guess it’s human nature to focus on one aspect of God’s character more than others. I am writing a devotion with some of my and my pastor’s FB posts, and I noticed that I had several posts on God as our provider, while my pastor focused more on God as our healer. Both are true but neither portray the complete picture of who God is.

God is BIG! He is complex. He is multifaceted. He is so Big that it takes each us to fully represent Him.

Some of us have believed a lie here in America that God is a republican. But I believe that God is so big that He cannot be represented by one political party. There are aspect of each party that reveal the heart of God.

Yes God calls us to live moral lives,
But he also calls us to champion the needs of the poor.

Yes God says, Be Holy as I am Holy,
But He also calls us to extend justice in our courts for ALLL people

Yes, it’s not God’s will to abort babies,
But He also calls us to love and provide for the fatherless.

Yes, the earth is perishing,
But He calls us to be good stewards of this world.

Yes, there is only one way to the Father
But He calls us to extend love and kindness to foreigners.

Healing in America will begin when we learn to see God in each other. Healing will begin when we stop aligning ourselves along political lines and begin to have a heart for the Fulness of God. Healing will begin when we lay down our agenda and pick up His.

“There are those who turn justice into bitterness and cast righteousness to the ground. There are those who hate the one who upholds justice in court and detest the one who tells the truth. You levy a straw tax on the poor and impose a tax on their grain. Therefore, though you have built stone mansions, you will not live in them; though you have planted lush vineyards, you will not drink their wine. For I know how many are your offenses and how great your sins. There are those who oppress the innocent and take bribes and deprive the poor of justice in the courts. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph.”
