Make America Kind

Yesterday, I read reviews of the White House Corespondent Dinner. By all accounts, the lead speakers jokes were vulgar and mean spirited. This saddens me. How did we get here as a country? When did we lose civility toward each other? When did we lose the ability to debate without degrade?

So, I have decided to start a new campaign. “Make America Kind.” This campaign is not aligned to either party. It seeks to answer with kindness despite how others respond to you. Our behavior will not be relative to others behavior. We will take responsibility for our actions and not say, “well so and so is worse.”

If we see our neighbor in need, if we can help in anyway, we will.

Our words will be laced with grace. We will not use our religion as an excuse to judge, condemn, or ridicule others. We will listen to others point of view and seek to understand. If we disagree, we will disagree in love. We will not label people as “haters”, “homophobic”, or “ libtards” because they disagree with us.

We will not post articles that inflame without checking their veracity. We will not troll other people’s post as if we are the FB truth police.

Will you join me? Will you Make America Kind. Each of us can model this in our sphere of influence. Each of us can start a revolution in our homes, communities, cities, and nation. Be kind one toward another.

“For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:14-15‬ ‭NIV‬‬
