Once an Apostle, always an Apostle?

I read this verse this morning and it stopped me in my tracks:

The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. (Revelation 21:14 NIV)

My question, “Is Judas’ name listed?”

Is the one who stole from the offering, the one who betrayed the Savior, the one took his own life, is his name listed in a prominent place in heaven?

What kind of mercy does it take, what type of love is required, to place the name of the person who betrayed you, who stole from you and give it a place of prominence for ALL to see?

It takes the love and mercy of Abba, Father. We have all done stupid things. We have all fell short. But God in His great love for us never recalls our gifts. He never retracts the calling on our life. He called Judas to be an apostle. Judas turned his back, God did not. So his name is forever known amongst the Lamb’s apostles. Wow! Just wow!

Have you walked away from God? Have you turned your back? Have you betrayed Him? Have you done things that you are ashamed of? God has not turned His back on you. He will never forsake you. He is not ashamed of you. He loves you. He stills sees you as prophet, teacher, worship leader, pastor, apostle, missionary, evangelist, son, daughter, bride.

His mercy is calling you home. His unfailing love is wooing your heart. Come home. Your name is written on a prominent place in His heart.
