Preach!

The thought of preaching like Jesus preached, impromptu to crowds, intimidates most of us. Yet we are all called to preach. Perhaps not to crowds but we are all anointed and commissioned to bring good news to those who are hurting and afflicted. We preach when we comfort a friend who is hurting, we preach when we post on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. We preach when we show kindness to a stranger. We preach by the way we handle adversity at work and family gatherings.

Now, the question becomes, “what message am I preaching?” Today, I am choosing to Invite the Holy Spirit into my message. I am asking Him to help me preach a message that promotes love not fear, hope not discouragement, peace not anxiety, forgiveness not vegence, message that points to the goodness and majesty of God, a message that leads others to know Jesus as Savior.

This is the message we were born to preach! This is the gospel we were commissioned to share. This is why the Spirit of the Lord is upon us. Now, let’s go and preach

“The Spirit of the Lord G OD is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed and commissioned me To bring good news to the humble and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up [the wounds of] the brokenhearted, To proclaim release [from confinement and condemnation] to the [physical and spiritual] captives And freedom to prisoners,”
