Supply

I’ve shared in the past how our family went through a particularly difficult financial hardship when we were newly married. During that time, one of the scriptures I stood on was:

“And my God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭CSB‬‬

If we look at this scripture in context, Paul was speaking about finances. He was thanking the Philippians for their generous gift and reminding them of God’s faithfulness.

But I think if we read this scripture only in the light of finances, we can miss a more significant meaning.

Paul said, “God will supply ALL of our needs.”

ALL!

All encompasses all.

God will supply my emotional needs. Friendship when I’m lonely. Joy when I’m sad. Peace when I’m anxious.

God will supply my physical needs. Food when I’m hungry. Water when I’m thirsty. Health when I’m ailing.

God will supply my spiritual needs. Wisdom when I’m confused. Revelation when I’m seeking. Forgiveness when I miss the mark. Hope when I’m discouraged. Acceptance when I’m rejected.

God will supply whatever I need to work, to parent, to minister, to study. There is no area in my life where his supply doesn’t flow.

And how does He dispense the remedies for my lack? According to my goodness, to my faithfulness, to my abilities? Absolutely NOT.

He supplies according to His unlimited resources of grace, love, mercy. He gives to us according to His riches in glory. The same riches that created sunsets, the colors of autumn, the spring flowers, the sounds of Music is the same vat from which he withdraws to deposit into us.

What area of your life are you lacking? Trust Him to withdraw from His unlimited resources and deposit whatever you need into your life. He’s that Good.
