Take Courage

Five kings plotted together. Five Kings from established nations came together with one purpose – destroy Israel. In this time when there was no Facebook, no nightly news, no telephone, they still managed to hear how this small unestablished nation was conquering the land. The fame of ther God had spread and now they feared this small nation and their big God.

These five kings devised a misguided attempt to stop Israel so they attacked. But God told Joshua, “Do not be afraid, I have given them into your hand.” Joshua and his army routed this vast army and the Fame of their God spread even further.

This story is speaking to me this morning. A few weeks ago my website was hacked and I could not publish my daily devotionals. Yesterday, my Facebook account was disabled for “suspicious activity.” The enemy is trying hard to silence me. He wants to minimize my influence. But I am not having it. I know who I am in Christ and I know whose I am. I know greater is He that is in me than he who is in the world.

We may not see our God-given potential. We may not recognize what God is about to do in us and through us. We may not recognize the threat we pose to the kingdom of darkness but the enemy does and he will try to stop us. He will try to come against in five different ways. But take courage, my friends. The same God who routed the five kings on Israel’s behalf is the same God who has already defeated the enemy of our souls and who will not allow His plans for us to be thwarted.

When you see the enemy come against you laugh and get excited. He knows how close you are to walking in your destiny. He knows the promises of God in your life is about to be fulfilled. So laugh at him and then kick his sorry butt out. Continue to do what God has called you to do. Don’t allow him to distract you with this foolishness. What he meant for your harm will actually propel you into your victory. No weapon formed against you shall prosper.

Take courage! God has given the land into your hand!

“So Joshua and his whole army, including the bravest warriors, marched up from Gilgal. The LORD told Joshua, “Don’t be afraid of them, for I am handing them over to you. Not one of them can resist you.”

The LORD routed them before Israel. Israel thoroughly defeated them at Gibeon. They chased them up the road to the pass of Beth Horon and struck them down all the way to Azekah and Makkedah.”
