Taste and See

“God is good,” that thought awaken me this morning. The simple yet profound, the trite yet deep, the spoken often yet oft forgotten, the taught to children but foundational truth- God is good -permeates every iota of my soul this morning.

God is good. Everything about Him is good.

He gives good gifts. (James 1:17)
He has good plans for us. (Jeremiah 29:11)
He has good things stored up for us. (Psalms 31:19)
He does not withhold good things from us. (Psalms 84:11)
He works things out for our good (Romans 8:28)
His will is good (Romans 12:2)
He is good to all He has made. (Psalms 145:9)
He does good and heals all who are oppressed. (Acts 10:38)

He is a good Father, a good Shepherd, a good Friend, a good God.

He is 100% good. No evil exists within Him. (I John 1:15)

He sends His goodness and mercy to follow us around.
He makes good things.
He fills the earth with His good and wondrous treasures.
He satisfies the longing soul and fills us with His goodness.

Taste and see, my friends!

When the day seem dark, God is good.
When our circumstances are unbearable, God is good.
When hope wanes, God is good.
When I don’t understand, God is good.
God is good all of the time.

Let this truth be our foundation as we pray, worship, give, trust, believe, stand, fight, parent, teach.

We contend knowing God is good and we will see His goodness in our circumstances, in our children, in this pain, in this heartache, in this tragedy, in this lifetime!

No matter what you are going through this morning, worship Him because He is good. Give thanks because He is good. Sing, shout, dance because He is good. But most importantly, trust, hope, and dream because He is good.
