What’s In Your Wallet?

What do you have to offer?

The widow came to Elisha distressed, discouraged, fearful. Creditors was threatening to imprison her boys and take away the little that she had. She needed a solution. Fast.

But I don’t think she was prepared for Elisha’s question: “What do you have in your house?”

God had already given her what she needed for a breakthrough. Here is a formula:

Your offering + God’s miraculous = Breakthrough

Maybe you, like this widow, are in need of miraculous provision. Maybe your situation appears dire. Maybe you are crying out to God to save your children.

Perhaps God is saying to you: “What is in your house?” What gifts, what resources have I placed within you that are laying dormant. You are looking for an external rescue when everything you need I have already placed within you.

Do not devalue what is within you. The widow replied, “All I have is a flask of oil.” She thought her oil was insignificant but it turned out to be more than enough. God has put inside of you, what is needed for this season.

You may be asking for a breakthrough this morning. But God is asking, “What’s in Your Wallet?”

““What can I do to help you?” Elisha asked. “Tell me, what do you have in the house?” “Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied.”
