Who’s Your Master?

One my favorite chapters in the Bible is Romans 6. It was probably the most life altering chapterI have ever read.

You see, I use to have an anger problem. Your greatest area of weakness, is most likely your greatest strength that has not been tempered by God. With this same mouth that I now use to preach the gospel, give encouraging words, and bless people, I then used to go off on people and demand my way. Yes, I was Christian but I was ruled by anger.

But then one day I read Romans 6. Romans 6 promised (several times) sin was no longer my master. I could overcome anger. It was NOT my master. It was NOT simply my personality. When I died with Christ, the anger died and was NOT resurrected with me. That set me free.

If you are struggling with a sin pattern – anger, jealousy, lust, addictions, anxiety, fear – allow the truth of Romans 6 to set you free. Declare this with me:

There is no guilt or condemnation. I am loved at this moment by God. I am accepted at this moment in the Beloved. I recognize sin is no longer my master. I have been crucified with Christ and a new me was resurrected. _______________ (name your struggle) is no longer my master. I am not ruled by the law but by grace. I am free from _________________. Amen

If necessary declare this several times a day. Stand on the promise given in Romans 6. Sin is no longer your master. Be set free my brothers and sisters.

“Don’t let sin keep ruling your lives. You are ruled by God’s undeserved grace and not by the Law.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:14‬ ‭CEV‬‬
